The
other half of Maya is lorielJump! Where archipelago deals with businesses
processes - boring sounding stuff that just happens to be the meat of
success - lorielJump! is all about face.
Face is how we are perceived by others, by our actions, reputation
and what we stand for.
In the 'real' world, this is Public and Customer Relations. lorielJump!
goes a few steps further though, and brings in everyone else that 'you'
would deal with. All of these other people or organisations, whatever
they may be, have a relationship with you. They may do business with
you, or want information, or even protest against you!
As soon as something becomes interested in you a relationship exists,
even if you don't know it, or want to know about it - and sometimes
you wont have a choice about it either! lorielJump is about, not managing
these relationships because management is a bad word, as it implies
control or superiority of one side over others and good relationships
aren't built that way, instead it aims to provide a meeting place so
to speak where the parties are confortable and able to converse.
I am part of lorielJump! as are all ViDoLLs. We are a face, I am a
face of dptopia. Your
being here is a relationship between you and dptopia.
I'm providing information, being damn nice and friendly and making sure
you feel adequetly 'listened to'.
Like archipelago, here's a bunch of dot-points to put lorielJump! into
perspective:
- lorielJump! is Customer Relations Management (CRM) for customers,
and everyone else who is in the Busness Partner Network, other interested
parties and the curious.
- Customer Service, or inquiries of any kind get bogged down when
the initial point of contact cannot provide an instant answer. Questions
may be completely forgotten and the customer never contacted. In software
engineering there are Bug Tacking programs. Bugs are important to
get rid of in software, and external and internal questions/inquiries
should be treated the same way (not as Bugs per se), being tracked
and ticketed to the appropriate party and Closed in a reasonable time
frame (which is generally shorter than closing a software bug - customers
want immediate answers).
- ViDoLLs are personality content delivery engines. A 'reverse' form
of personalisation, a user picks an appropriate ViDoLL that will present
them with the information that they are looking for in a timely, friendly
and enjoyable manner. Thus, a user can employ multiple ViDoLL's to
be presented with suscint information on particular topics rather
than having to supply personalisation data to get a more cluttered
response, and in general pushed-content in any case.
- Inquiries may not be presented to the appropriate party, such as
a question about a product or component which could be better answered,
and faster, by the component producer. By utilising the Partner Network,
those making inquiries will be put in contact with the source rather
than a mediary.
- lorielJump! ties into the archipelago communication methods, of
chat rooms and newsgroup like discussion boards. As any form of communication
results in a relationship, it is obvious that lorielJump! is involved
in these channels.
Ultimately, it's up to the users of lorielJump! and archipelago, to
provide a proper level of service. lorielJump! provides the platform
to let relationships be carried out with any and everything.
